White Hot and Different
May 2006
Part
of Innovations' goal is to present new shows that are different
to what's been done before. So, the question must be asked, why
another variety show? But White Hot and Different
isn't just any variety show – it's an Innovations Theatre School
variety show!
White Hot and
Different surprised audiences with its bare and unusual set
made of scaffolding, shocked them with controversial pieces like
The
Persecution And Assassination Of Marat As Performed By The
Inmates Of The Asylum Of Charenton Under The Direction Of The
Marquis De Sade and roused them with old favourites from
classics such as The Wizard of Oz. White Hot and
Different showcased just about everything, from pop songs to
traditional Irish music to musicals like Chicago and Annie.
Audiences agreed, it was all in the title: the set was white,
the kids were hot and the show certainly was different!
