Sarah Morris
Drama Teacher
Sarah is one of
Innovations most illustrious past pupils. She was
one of the original children to join the then
Performing Arts Stage School Gorey in 2004, and
immediately showed her colours as an outstanding
talent. She was named Student of the Year in the
spring of 2005. In 2007, she received the most
prestigious award given by Innovations
– the PACE Award (Performing
Arts Certificate of Excellence). This award
has only been given four times
in the past 10 years, and Sarah
is the only Gorey student
to have won it.
She was accepted
into the College of Dance, Dublin in 2006 – one of
the youngest students ever to be taken on, and she
graduated with a Diploma of Dance in July 2008.
That summer she choreographed and performed in
An Croí
for a two-week tour
of South Dakota, U.S.A.
Sarah is not
only an excellent dancer/choreographer, she is
also a fine actress and has appeared as Titania in
Midsummer Night’s Dream and as Clytemnestra
in Elecktra. Currently she is a 4th
- year student in the
Bull Alley Theatre School.
Sarah has been
teaching in Innovations for some time now,
starting as assistant to the drama teachers as
well as working with Realtíní. In 2009, she made
her directing debut with Oliver
and also taught in Summer School.
Most recently she directed the senior
girls in Federico Garcia Lorca's 'The
House of Bernarda Alba'.
Sarah is totally
dedicated to the theatre, and says she loves
working with the array of talented students and
tutors that make up
Innovations.
